What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand how it is used.

What this website sets

Strictly necessary. These keep the site working and cannot be switched off. They include the cookie that records your own cookie choice, the session and security tokens used when a form is submitted, and anything set while you are signed in to the site’s administration area.

Preference. We store small items in your browser so the site remembers what you have already seen or dismissed — for example that you have closed the announcement bar. These stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Analytics. If analytics are enabled, they are only set after you accept. They tell us which pages are read and how people move through the site. We do not use them to identify you individually.

We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. Choosing Decline means no analytics cookies are set; the strictly necessary ones remain, because the site cannot function without them. You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings — though blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop forms working.

Third parties

Pages that embed a video from YouTube may set cookies from that service once you choose to play the video. We load those players only on interaction, so nothing is set until you click.
